Footsteps in the Halls, Not the Exciting Kind, Though...

“You gotta believe me this time!” Mei stood on the stairs, blocking the way for the other girl standing across from her, arms and legs making her silhouette like a star. “Those two have something planned, and I’m going to need help to get to the bottom of this!” These days, it felt like Maria was the only person who’d ever listen to her. Even though the two had little in common, they shared two important traits. They both had far too much free time, and a strong belief in the supernatural. However, Maria was less keen on ghost hunting than Mei. “I’m not so sure, especially after last time.” Last time? Whispers in the Air, Not the Good Kind, Though...

Mei often thought about her mother despite her best efforts. Of course, she realized that it was for naught, but at that point the woman had become more of a figurehead to represent her purpose. Being raised by her Grandmother meant she used to be like Mei. But she remembered what her mom said, essentially ringing in her ears. However, her introspection is short lived, as her spectrometer began to beep. The graveyard, while normally cold, was almost always dead. Not in the good way. The girl's eyes widened, pushing up her thick, rectangular glasses up her nose as she stared in front of her. There was music. She couldn't quite make out the exact details, it being partially obscured by the noise of the world practically buzzing around her. It was like a ghost left behind, an echo.  "Ya' know you aren't gonna be successful like that."
